well, even tho' i have been dubbed as crazy, i've got 1 6.8GB partition i use
for everything... if i were you, i would make your 250MB hdd your /home
partition (depending on how much stuff you think you will keep there), and
use your 1.7 for pretty much everything else, as 1 big partition, but that is
just my crazy opinion.. i've heard advantages and disadvantages of multiple
partitions, and i have concluded that a /home partition, a / partition, and a
swap partition is all i really need... that way, i don't have to screw w/ one
partition filling up (ie /opt), while another has plenty of room...
