What we are wantiong to do is telnet into our box. there are just some
things that are easier to do from a bash/ whatever prompt than from within
Win 95/98/NT so we want to telnet into the NT box, and get out onto the net,
but in such a way that all the M$ native junk is un aware of it. For
instance if I am testing my mail server from within the network, any email
sent to any address here never leaves these four walls, but the server
catches it and directs it like it is supposed to. Not good when i am trying
to properly configure a virtual domain mail setup for a client in Atlanta.
So, I hope that is a little more enlightening to my situation.

Are you trying to telnet to an NT box or from an NT box?
If you are working "from" NT, you can telnet, rlogin, or rsh (I forget
exactly which one) to a Unix host of choice, given the user name and
password and a proper network connection...
If you are working say from Linux to NT... Don't know if NT supports
telnet out of the box or not, but there should be some service you could
run to do it... Not haveing a NT box to bang on, sorta limits what I
can tell you though...
Gosh.. I thought that NT *was* Unix according to Microsoft... Guess
they did not tell the truth on that...
