[aclug-L] Window Maker

i'm having problems getting Window Maker to work.  i compiled and
installed perfectly, w/ no problems, but when i put the line
        exec /usr/local/bin/wmaker
in my xinitrc, it doesn't load properly...   i get to the gray
background, with the X cursor, then it flashes back to the commandline
w/ no errors...almost as if it isn't even attempting to load wmaker.  

i'm using v.20.1 (latest) on a RedHat 5.1 system...  i added
/usr/local/bin to my path, since it wasn't already there, but that
changed nothing...

please help,

p.s. anyone else run WM with GNOME?
