It would be really cool if bug 48 could be fixed:

I have been using the patch I provided reliably for 3 months now, and
I haven't had any issues with it. The password cache code in there may
need some minor cleaning up since I wasn't sure what the best way to
integrate it to IMAPServer was, but it basically works:
