I was happily in the process of taring a big directory of stuff (10 MB) on
my Linux box when it suddenly quit, saying "bus error". I tried again, and
it happens every time - not always at the same place.

I thought I'd check to see what other output du would offer me by looking
at the man pages, but that yielded me:

jupiter:~$ man du
Reformatting du(1), please wait...
groff: troff: Bus error
groff: grotty: Bus error

Any clue what could cause this?

Also, what is the command that gives you the list of each partition and how
full they all are? I can't remember...

thanks,
john
