i use kermit to communicate with my linux-pc and it works fine.
in addition i use a small tool wich sync the container-file filesystem
with the filesystem.

interfaceparamters: 9600 8N1

i'm afraid hp40 can not work like a terminal because it's not be able to
work in 'fullduplex' nor streaming mode.
