Since there are known to be some compatibility issues with Microsoft-distributed
software components and HPComm (e.g., the buggy version of at least one .dll
file mentioned in some posts a while ago), it would probably be helpful if
someone would post a complete list of which .dll's, and any other
version-sensitive system software components, are required for HPComm, along
with the version number needed. Since sometimes such files exist in multiple
copies (having come, presumably, from automatic installs of different software
packages), it would also be helpful to know where the copy used by HPComm would
normally be loaded from, as well as any relevant "Private Build Description"
info.

FYI, the version number can be found as follows (in Windows NT; similar methods
may work in other versions of Windows, but I'm not betting a lot of money on
that one):

Navigate to the .dll file. (This may be done by using Find File, look for *.dll,
and look down the list. until you find the right name; observe also that "In
Folder" shows the right location, especially if there are more than one listed
with the same name.)
Right-click on the file. Click on the "properties" item. Click on the "Version"
tab and observe the "File version" information. Also, the "Private Build
Description" (click on that field in the "Item name" column under "Other version
information") may be relevant.
