Dear Bryan,

Thanks very much for your mail.

This problem is usually because the version of the MFC42.DLL
installed on your system is too old.

This DLL should have been updated when you ran the installation
program for the connectivity kit, but just in case, here's how
to check:

 - Select Start->Find->Files or Folders...
 - Type "mfc42.dll" into the "Named:" field.
 - Click on "Find Now".
 - You'll be shown one or more MFC42.DLLs on your system.
 - Pick the file which is in your Windows directory.
(eg on my system I have one in C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32)
 - Right-click on the file icon, then choose "Properties".
 - At the top of the properties dialog, click on "Version".
 - Next to "File version:" there'll be a number. This number
should be _at_least_ 6.00.8267.0. If it's earlier than
this (especially if the first number is 4 or 5) then this
   is definitely the problem.

Can you let me know the version number of the file on your computer
please?

To fix this problem, re-run the installation program.
(You can get new versions from http://www.hpcomm.org )

If you _still_ have the problem, please mail me.

Regards,

Mitch.
