Ok, ok...too good to be true (so far)....

I have gopherd built and it appears to be running, but it will not serve
up its directory properly and spits out a bunch of junk in the Console.
The following console message appears when I have folders AND files in
the <gopher-stuff> directory (gopher client says there is no menu):

Date/Time: 2002-03-18 15:26:27 -0600
OS Version: 10.1.3 (Build 5Q45)

Command: gopherd
PID: 522

Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001)
Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE (0x0002) at 0x0000000c

When I only have directories in the <gopher-stuff> folder, gopherd
serves up a main menu, but when I try to delve one level into the tree,
the client says "Cannot connect to host
<mycomputer>.Vanderbilt.Eduno.domain.name, port 70." when <mycomputer>
is the other part of the address. I dont know if it is just the
formatting of this error message, but the "no.domain.name" is tacked on
the end of my domain for some reason....sorry for my lack of
familiarity, but could this be part of the problem? The Console once
pukes out a bunch of crashreport info when even this main menu is served:

All I want right now is to be able to have a simple working gopher
server (with maybe more stuff later). Thanks for any help you can give,
it is certainly appreciated by someone coming back to gopher oafter many
years of non-use. Long live gopher :)
