[Freeciv] Problems starting client

Hello, I've just compiled the latest freeciv on my Mandrake 10, the
server seems to work fine but when I try to bring up the client I get
the following errors, any help will be grately appreciated.

[arturo@localhost freeciv-1.14.2]$ civclient
1: Cannot find sound spec-file "stdsounds".
1: To get sound you need to download a sound set!
1: Get sound sets from <ftp://ftp.freeciv.org/freeciv/contrib/sounds/sets>.
1: Will continue with disabled sounds.
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified


(civclient:10723): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display:
