[Freeciv] A Little Help Please

I have the Windows version of Freeciv when I start the civclient i get a message the says:

1: Could not find home directory (HOME is not set)

 

gdk_imlib-WARNING **: Cannot Find Palette. A Palette is required for this mode

 

Gtk-Critical **:  file gtkwidget.c: line 4263 (gtk_widget_push_visual): assertion

 'visual != NULL' failed.

on  'cmap != NULL' failed.

 

 

 

what do I do? after this it says error and closes.
