Hello,

First, let me thank you for that soft Freeciv. It seems to be a great one, and what a job ! Congratulations.

If you have a while, I'd like you to help me have a first game started.

I tried installing Freeciv-1.7.1 on my PC-Linux (Red Hat 5.1 with KDE, Mandrake distribution).
It compiled fine.
Running the script called "civ" makes appear the game's windows, prompting me to give name, host and port in order to connect (Freeciv Server Selection window). Up to here, every thing seems ok.

Actually, I have no local net, just (as you see), a TCP/IP connection. I am proposed:
name : root or user depending of my curent account
host : localhost
port : 5555
Clicking on the connect button makes write on the main window "connection refused", and I can't start a game.

I've got no idea about the way to fill this connection window to have it fine. Could you help me ?

Thanks a lot for your help.

PS : I guess this page is not very good english. Please excuse me for that.
