[Freeciv-Dev] (PR#14009) bug report: text overflow[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index] [Thread Index]
<URL: http://bugs.freeciv.org/Ticket/Display.html?id=14009 > Yeah, I just realized that in this bug report I failed to include which version I'm running. When I clicked the About menu item, I saw the directions for correct bug reporting. Sorry for sending this to the wrong address first. The about box mentioned that there was a file called BUGS in my freeciv directory that details the correct way of doing this, but I can't find it. If you send it along, I'd read it and obey it. Until then, I'm running version 2.0.4 on Windows XP. Thanks again, Joel. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Joel Melamed <joel.melamed@xxxxxxxxx> Date: Sep 17, 2005 7:26 PM Subject: bug report: text overflow To: freeciv-dev@xxxxxxxxxxx Hello, First of all, let me say a big thank you for all the hard work you've done. I absolutely love your game! Secondly, the reason I'm writing is that I finally found a bug in your code. Not by looking at the source, but by playing the damn thing. My bug is difficult to reproduce as I think it's a memory problem. I'm playing a game with six AI opponents (though some them stupidly think we're in some kind of alliance; oh I'll get to them soon enough). I have one city (Perpiny) that is the source of my problem. 1. When I bring up the city window, the one with tabs for Overview, Production, Happiness, etc., I should see at the very top a text message that displays the city name, its population and its state (rapture, peace, disorder). This is always blank. 2. This city built Leonardo's Workshop, but when I hit F7 for the traveler's report of the Wonders of the world, it displays every wonder and the city its in on down to the city name Perpiny. In the early stages of the game, I only saw four wonders, but as I've built more wonders, the ones that come before "L" in the alphabetically sorted list do appear, but the ones whose first letter comes after "L" do not. This is a major problem as I failed to build the Pyramids and I desperately would like to know who did so I can take them over. 3. Every city that trades with Perpiny, on their "Trade Routes" tab, fails to display any information after declaring its trade route with Perpiny. Is there any thing more I can do help you track this (low-severity, minor) bug down? Perhaps I could tar up an early version of the game and send it off to you? Let me know and I'll be happy to help.
