When the Freeciv Internet Metaserver is down - as it is at the time of
writing - it takes a very long time for the (GTK2) client to timeout,
during which the interface won't respond. I haven't measured the time,
but it's in the vicinity of 5-10 min.
The terminal gives the error message "1: Error before closing
(anonymous): Connection reset by peer"
