It does obsolete some of them. But as you said, several flags has 
shapes that will look distorted and strange if simply scaled. Apart 
from Switzerland, this is a list of most of them:

Afghanistan
Argentina
Australia
Azerbaijan
Bosnia
Canada
Cheyenne
Croatia (possibly)
Ethiopia
Malaysia
Mongolia
New Zealand
Rome (possibly)
Slovenia (possibly)
USA

Many of these are included in my package. Can you commit them to the 
CVS or do you want me to repackage them? I can make the other ones when 
we see how these turn out.

The crosses of various Nordic countries might not scale well too, but 
that is to be seen.
