I get this now:
autoconf: Undefined macros:
***BUG in Autoconf--please report*** AC_HELP_STRING
I initially thought it was working because automake left its old
Makefile.in files in my working directory. Grabbing a clean CVS
checkout and trying the old autotools produced this. As autoconf fails,
autogen.sh never gets around to calling automake.
