Well I just had it off my memories, so I don't know how my test scenarios 
back then were.
The patch Jason sent in was tested on quite a few systems with sed 3.0.2 to 
4.0.7, but mostly Linux-only.
So for me it was "use at your own risk", it should probably the same for you 
:)
