A Freeciv challenge is a savegame with a stated goal, to be reached
from the given savegame. There are usually more and less optimal
solutions, so the challenge is to do as well as possible.

So far, there have been two challenges:

  http://lists.complete.org/freeciv@xxxxxxxxxxx/2002/12/msg00007.html.gz

Both use the same savegame (attached).

In the first, the goal is to reach Republic as soon as possible;
in the second, the goal is to build 10 settlers as soon as possible.

The challenges are fun, and solutions provide useful information for AI
developers.

There should be a couple of webpages on which the challenges are
available, with also a way to upload solutions. The
civserver.freeciv.org software can be modified to support this.
