No, I don't think so. There is already a problem with players getting
disconnected for a few seconds, and then someone else jumping in to take
over before he can reconnect. We don't want to encourage this behaviour.

Well, if the starting player plays until year +1999 then disconnects, and
another player joins and takes over, who has a better claim to the score
points?
