White is the problem ... the background depends on the (users) style.
By the way ... is it possible to create styles for certain apps only?
Why not make a default style for freeciv then ? I could imagine a lot
of people would love to work on this ... just look at the sheer
number of skins for each configurable mp3 player respectively themes
for a window manager of your choice.
