added a few comments, corrected the spelling of COLUMN,
removed the if (width<5).
If the gtk experts (*winks at Vasc*) dont find any huge
memory leaks or worse, I'd say its ready to apply.
The button problem should be solved by the translators.
If you are out of ideas, I can come up with a few
shorter (and still fitting) descriptions.
