I see that too - in my case it is because of a bug in gtk that when it meets 
national characters like "å" it will cut of the rest of the line. So when it 
tries to pop up a message box with one message "Århus has ..." it shows blank.

A blank message window pops up once in a while (every 15 turns or so).
