Which client?    - I have 1.10 now, but this used to happen with the other
versions' too, IIRC.

What version of Freeciv?    - Is this question actually relevant? I don't
think you can make work a certain version of client with a different version
of server. Maybe I just don't get your question. Of course, it's version
1.10.

Built from source or a binary install?    - The Windows version is a binary
install. The one on Linux (Slackware 7) is built from source with the
default settings.
