I too, think perl would be the most powerful way to tell the ai
to do stuff, and the hashes should cancel all speed problems(or some).
However, I hesitated to suggest it, since it has a high entry level/effort,
because of it's weird syntax,and also, it would lead to duplicating
client/server code in perl, possibly splitting the code base.

I don't know whether it would have to be a separate program;
perl can be imbedded in C too.
That might be a good starting point. (?!)
