The July 2006 WEEE/RoHS environmental protection act forces local and
federal government agencies to reserve and establish a free disposal
program. Based on this program, Sedgwick County established its
Household Hazardous Waste Department (801 Stillwell Street Wichita, KS)
for any environmental hazardous materials. This is free of charge to ANY
taxpayer.

Please note that based on the July 2006 WEEE standard any corporation
that sells electronic components MUST also extablish a recycle program.
Corporations such as WalMart, Best Buy, etc. are found liable with the
packaging part of the electronic components (i.e. cardboard, the
plastics, styrofoams, etc.) Should these corporations do not have a
local recycling, they must pay a fine of $10,000 USD one time fee plus
$1000 USD per day until such recycling is established. This means, if
you buy anything from Bestbuy you can return your packaging to them and
by law they must accept it from you and properly recycle it. No need of
paying $$$ for recycling through your trash services.

Kind Regards

Alex

Wichita PC Recycling is recycling older tvs, monitors, & computer parts.
I don't know what the charge is to recycle. I was told that old
monitors cost $10. It may be the same for tvs. ~Anne
