'DVD File' is a standard MPEG-2 format.... but it also
has the DVD menu info.

"Most' DVD '.VOB' files can just be renamed to 'MPEG'
and most standard 'MPEG-2' playback software can play
them back with out troubles.

But if your system will only work with MPEG-1 / AVI
files then I suggest that you check out the
VIDEOHELP.COM web site for more info on transcoding
DVD's to AVI, DIVX, WMV and or MPEG-1 file formats.
