ACLUG is starting a PVR [1] SIG (special interest group). This group
would help people get aquainted with the types=20
of PVRs for linux, and help people when building them.=20

There will be a mailing list created for it, which will be announced
later. Announcements of meetings will also be=20
announced on the announce@xxxxxxxxx mailing list.

The first meeting will be at Saturday, 2pm, in Neff Hall 116 (WSU), and
the=20
building will most likely be locked, so those of you who didn't get his=20
number, and are interested in attending, please email=20
james@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx=20

Neff is just southwest of the WSU Library, southeast of Jabara and is=20
North-South, a map is available at:
http://www.wichita.edu/online/map.asp

In this meeting we will be discussing our plans so you don't need to
bring your hardware.

There are some things which people should probably know before
attending. These include: Most importantly what do you want to do with
it. (record videos from old VHS=20
casettes, record a specific show on tv, record a variety, etc) How much
are you willing to spend? (some cards can be as low as $10 on sale,=20
or well over $1000 for some of the HDTV recorders)
What hardware do you have that you would be using?
What are you going to be recording from? (if say satelite, you may need
to=20
 some special hardware to change channels)
