Tom,
Looks like a real good start. 

I assume you will keep something like the current first page which would 
introduce a stranger or interested newbie to the organization and to Linux.

I guess the activities and upcoming presentations would be in the calendar/ 
news section.

I'm no programmer or graphic designer, but I can edit and test.
