[aclug-L] Install Java plugin 1.3

Hi, all
   I was trying to install the JRE 1.3 which is
include the Java plugin on my Debian linux box. So I
can write some Swing class.

I following the Installation instruction on:
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/jre/install-linux.html

However once I access the link with Swing class, like:
http://www.javasoft.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/start/HelloSwingApplet.html

I got a box:
"This page contains information of a type
(Application/x-java-applet;version=1.1.2) that can
only be view with the appropriate Plug-in. click ok to
download Plugin", when I hit ok, it send me to:
http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/download/linux.html

Well, the JRE 1.3 I download should contain the
Plug-in already. I don't know why it will pop up this
page. Does anyone have seen this problem?

One more problem is when I run:
# /usr/java/jdk1.3/jre/bin/ControlPanel

it generates:
Font specified in font.properties not found
[--symbol-medium-r-normal--*-%d-*-*-p-*-adobe-fontspecific]
Font specified in font.properties not found
[--symbol-medium-r-normal--*-%d-*-*-p-*-adobe-fontspecific]
Font specified in font.properties not found
[--symbol-medium-r-normal--*-%d-*-*-p-*-adobe-fontspecific]
...
....
...
like 15 line before getting into the JRE 1.3.


Please let me know if anyone have any idea.
