i know it's kinda OT for a LUG, but i'm trying to install FreeBSD
4.1.1-RELEASE from a downloaded iso burned to cd on an old crapperd hell i
got from my wife's parents (free, of course!)... however, i keep getting
the following error(s):
ad0: WRITE command timeout - resetting
ata0: resetting devises .. done
ad0: READ command timeout - resetting
ata0: reseting devices .. done
....
what perplexes me even more is that DOS6.22 installs w/o a problem (from
floppies)... i scandisk'd the drive and got no errors, and the CDROM is
from my P200 box... (the orig CDROM was driven by the snd card and there
is only a primary IDE port... no secondary... told you it's a PB!: ^ )
any ideas?
