Double-check the warranty. As an example, an OEM PIII-850 has a 30-90 day
warranty, depending on the vendor, but the boxed processor comes with a fan
and a one-year warranty. Your choice.

98% of what I buy is OEM.
The only difference is:  It doesn't come with fancy packaging and sometimes
doesn't have all the manuals or drivers (which aren't important for Linux
anyway).

And it doesn't usually come with phone tech support, etc.
