I'm very happy with my APS BackUPS Pro.  The Linux driver I'm using does a
great job of monitoring it, reporting status information, and shutting
down the system at a pre-set charge level.

The BackUPS Pro has a lot of surge-suppression and line-conditioning
capability... it's not just a battery backup.  Maybe a little on the
expensive side compared to discount brands, but I think all the features
are worth it.
