PCMCIA wont be in the kernel until 2.4.0 Until then you have to use the
modular support or you can use 2.3 development kernel.

Subject: [aclug-L] Kernel question

I just compiled 2.2.14. As I was going through the xconfig
I never incountered an option to have PCMCIA. Did I just
miss it or is it not in the stable kernels? I seem to
remember it being an option in the 2.3.x kernel.

I am trying to build a kernel for my laptop and need the
PCMCIA for a NIC. I need recently new kernel for the support
for the ESS Solo1 sound card.

What's the best way to get both?

Thanks,

Wayne
