If you've not used PGP before, I'd suggest instead using GnuPG (GPG), as it
is entirely free, and forward compatible with PGP. If your Linux
distribution has a non-us FTP site, go there first, and download the
deb/rpm/whatever-your-distro-uses files. If you can't find that, you can
download the source codes and compile it yourself. I'm not sure where the
GnuPG web site is, altho I found it the other day--search the web for it.
If you do go with PGP, let me suggest using version 2.6.x rather than 5.0 or
later. 2.6.x is more widely supported.
