here's how my /etc/sysconfig/clock looks

ZONE="US/Central"
UTC="no"
ARC=false

and my "date" shows ok

( so mike, 4.5 huh -- maybe false instead of true for UTC? )

i'm sending this around 6pm CST for dramatic effect!!
