odd, what dist are you running?
for redhat, mandrake, turbo linux

it would be something like this:

# .bash_profile

# Get the aliases and functions
if [ -f ~/.bashrc ]; then
    . ~/.bashrc
fi

# User specific environment and startup programs

PATH=$PATH:$HOME/bin:/sbin
BASH_ENV=$HOME/.bashrc
USERNAME=""

export USERNAME BASH_ENV PATH

export SHADERS=/home/graphics/bmrt/shaders

export MOPSLIB=/home/graphics/mops/buttons

export BLENDERDIR=/home/graphics/blender

#   export XRACER_HOME=/home/download/xracer-data
