[aclug-L] Login in problem...

Hi, all, 
        I got a problem on my linux box, yesterday night, I shutdown my
linux box in two mins as root with the command line
/sbin/shutdown -h +2
I ususally did
/sbin/halt

        so, the next day when I tried to login as normal user...
login: username
Password: XXXXX
The system is going down on Sun Oct 31 01:01:57 1999

Login incorrect

login: 

        I am sure my password is correct...I am not able to login as a
normal user, I can login as root only...,and  then do a
su user
that is so much pain....
        If someone has experience this and know the solution, please
help... TIA.
