This may seem like a very simple question. But here goes...

I dual boot between Windoze 98 and RH 5.2 and it is a stand alone machine.
I did change the hostname using the command "hostname foo" which takes
care of changing the hostname from the default(localhost.localdomain) to
foo. However, the next time I reboot, I get back my default hostname. I
did edit the /etc/HOSTNAME and /etc/hosts file to put in the hostname that
I wanted, but it didn't seem to have any effect. After some researching
around, what I did was, I edited the /etc/sysconfig/network file and
changed
HOSTNAME=localhost.localdomain to
HOSTNAME=foo

This fixed the problem, however, when I boot the system, all the services
start normally(at, cron, gpm,... you know what I mean) except sendmail
which takes an awfully long time to start. Any ideas on what I'm doing
wrong??

TIA
Sanjay
