I do not know how inclined you are with electronic stuff, but I have found
that on many switches, the contacts corrode and keep the switch from
working. You, if you are careful, can clean these contacts with a pencil
eraser. (If you are not comfortable with this, get help. [there is 15,000
to 28,000 volts present inside the case of a monitor]) THIS WILL RUIN A
GOOD DAY, IF YOU GET INTO IT. MAYBE YOUR LIFE.
Make sure you remove ALL of the eraser dust/particles, as they will keep
the switch from making contact and working.
If this does not fix it, I can get switches for you. They range from $2.00
to $0.40 each, plus tax and Shipping and Handling. Usually the board which
holds the switches, is held in by one or two phillps screws, up under the
pix tube. You must take static precautions (grounded wrist strap) as most
monitors are cmos cpu based any more.
