I believe 2.2.1 fixes an "inconsistancy" in the 2.0.x kernels--in 2.0.x
the first printer was lp1 (whereas the first of everythign else is numered
0).

In 2.2.x the first printer is lp0.  (I *THINK*).

So... try changing all referneces to lp1 to lp0 and see if that helps.
