Hi,

This is basically FYI.

Kernel 2.2.0-pre9 is out, and barring any serious bugs found in it, it will
be officially released at 2.2.0 within the first few days of next week.
(Hints are that this will likely happen Monday.) Late results indicate
there are a few outstanding showstopper bugs in Alpha and Sparc. It is
unclear if there will, therefore, be a pre10 or if those bugs will simply be
fixed for the release.

The latest word is that 2.2.0 will be included as an optional component on
the next Debian release.
