It's pretty easy, get the fonts into a directory, run a script to prepare
them and then tell X that they're there (include them in the font path).  I
haven't done it myself, and don't remember all the details, but there's an
article that includes instructions for this in the Linux Gazette archives.
It's in the "The Graphics Muse" column.
