i'm on a AIX-RS/6000 box at work.
i'm new to aix and i'm trying to find a way to apply a root window image"wall paper"
the normal utilities xv, xloadimage can not be found.
aix has a graphical selection for a tiled backgroud but i want more.  i'm spoiled.
i don't know what the command is that it is useing, and the only graphic tools i can find are xsetroot(boreing), and i thought the other was xdm.  maybe i have it wrong.
any way i was able to do a screen capture with it and then redisplay it.
but i want it under my desktop not on top of it.

am i making sence or am i just confused?

Do you mean that you want the system to come up to an XDM login prompt, or you want a background for the login prompt?

I love linux too, but i don't think my boss would think too highly of that for a wall paper.
then again maybe he would,     Oouch!

i know how to create a *.xdm, my question is can i use xdm to set a root window?
