[aclug-L] unlocking lock files

Does anybody know how to unlock lock files?

I downloaded real player, It locked up and left the lock on the sound card, and
I have yet to get sound since.  When I restart it, I get another device has
locked the sound device.  I've rebooted and it does not work.
