Unfounded accusations of crypticism (is that a word?)!  Well, okay, so
they're not COMPLETELY unfounded...

Well, alright, so they're not unfounded at all.

I was being downright, blatently, without any doubt, cryptic.

Yes... what Dale said is correct.  In fact, 127.anything should loop back
to your local machine, as I understand (at least 127.0.0.anything).  But
127.0.0.1 is what is normally used as a standard "loopback" device.

If you connect to localhost, you connect to 127.0.0.1, which is your local
machine.
