Nope, it's the same place on RedHat. RedHat has no
/etc/X11/Xresources file:
mccoy /etc/X11> ls -l
total 11
drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 1024 Sep 29 14:33 AnotherLevel
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 1024 Sep 29 14:33 TheNextLevel
lrwxrwxrwx   1 root     root           24 Sep 29 14:50 X ->
../../usr/X11R6/bin/Xsun
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 1024 Sep 29 20:18 fs
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 1024 Sep 29 14:37 fvwm
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 1024 Sep 29 14:37 fvwm2
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 1024 Sep 29 20:18 twm
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 2048 Oct 5 15:02 wmconfig
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 1024 Oct 5 15:02 xdm
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 1024 Sep 30 09:45 xinit
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 1024 Sep 29 20:18 xsm
but it is there in /etc/X11/xdm.
Note that Debian has an /etc/X11/Xresources file. This is different
from the /etc/X11/xdm/Xresources(_0) file. /etc/X11/Xresources
controls global defaults for X sessions (what xterm font to use, for
instance). /etc/X11/xdm/Xresources sets things up for the xdm login
widget.
