Hello everyone,

First, I was glad to see so many people at our Monday meeting! We don't
keep a formal count, but I think it's the largest crowd I've seen yet.
Congrats to the winners of our Linux trivia contest as well!

I'd like to fill you in on some things that were decided at our Monday
meeting about ACLUG.

After discussing the alternatives, it has been decided to alternate between
Mondays and Tuesdays for ACLUG meetings. Therefore, the next meetin will
occur on TUESDAY, February 9. There have been a couple of different ideas
put forth to make this less confusing; we'll decide on a particular idea on
the 9th. (For instance, meet the first Monday and third Tuesday of each
month, or just alternate with the same weeks as we are using now, etc.) In
any case, http://www.aclug.org/events/ will always have a list of the dates
of the upcoming events.

The other exciting thing to report is that we have scheduled a Free Linux
Install for SATURDAY, February 27. We will be encouraging people to arrive
anytime between noon and 5 PM, but the earlier you arrive, the better.
We'll also need volunteers to help out with the installation; please e-mail
me (jgoerzen@xxxxxxxxxxxx) if you'd be willing to help. I'll be sending out
another e-mail with details in a few days. We'll be asking that you
pre-register for this if possible so we can have the appropriate amount of
CDs on hand the day of the installation.

Ideas for topics for the February 9th or any future meetings are welcome as
always. Right now, I am thinking that we may have an in-depth look at
printing in Linux on the 9th; that seems to be an area we haven't covered
yet, and one that certainly deserves some attention. The Linux printing
system is extremely powerful but can be difficult to understand.
