I would start by making sure that every machine has its correct IP
address. Don't simply look at the config file and see what IP address
it is supposed to have, rather do an ifconfig as root and see what IP
address it is using.

Then study you hosts file on all the machines to make sure that they
all match with each other.

As was mentioned in another post, this sounds like either a host name
resoultion problem, or an IP problem (two machines having the same
address).
